NEWHAVEN INTRODUCTION
Newhaven (originally called Woody Point) is situated on the south side of Phillip Island and located just as you come over the Narrows bridge. Newhaven is a small picturesque fishing village with a jetty, boat ramp and marina.

Historic landmarks include:
* The St. Paul’s Discovery Centre, which was established in 1928 by the mission of St. James and St. John as an orphanage and training school for problem boys

A red brick chapel, located between St. Paul’s and Newhaven College, was built as a memorial to the Hon. William John Schutt, a Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in Victoria from 1910 to 1926
* And just over the Phillip Island Tourist Road towards Newhaven Caravan Park are two memorials commemorating the opening of the 1940 and 1969 bridges
* Located in the playground is a plaque on a granite plinth bearing Richard Grayden name.
Access to the historic Churchill Island is located just west of Newhaven.
Newhaven provides a caravan park, a number of motels, bed & breakfasts, adventure shop, gallery, surf shop, restaurants & supermarket/newsagent. The Phillip Island Information Centre and Phillip Island Airport are located west of Newhaven.
Suggested nature walks - Woolamai surf beach, The Colonnades, Pinnacles, Forrest Caves, Woolamai State Fauna Reserve, Shearwater rookeries, the granite cliffs at Cape Woolamai, the beacon, and the abandoned granite quarry.
Surf beaches are located at Woolamai Surf Beach, Surf Beach and Forrest Caves and sheltered bay swimming beaches are located on each side of the bridge.
Public BBQs, toilets and playground are located in the Richard Grayden Park on Forrest Avenue. Public toilets are located at the jetty, yacht club, Information Centre and Woolamai surf beach . The Newhaven Hall, skate ramp and recreation reserve are located on Cleeland Street. Tennis courts located on Boys Home Road.
The boat ramp, trailer parking and yacht club are located on the corner of Seaview and Cleeland Streets in Newhaven.
