Australian Garden

On your way to or from Phillip Island, make sure you visit Victoria's newest botanic garden, the Australian Garden.

Located within the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, the award-winning Australian Garden is a place where visitors can be inspired by the beauty and diversity of Australian flora, landscapes, art and architecture.

Entry for adults costs AU$ 10.00 and for children under 16 entry is free.

The concession price is AU$ 8.50

Awe-inspiring landscapes
Come and experience the arid inland landscapes of central Australia, witness the beauty of the water flowing along the Rockpool Waterway and be amazed by the 90 metre long Escarpment Wall sculpture.

Learn about Australian plants
The Australian Garden features approximately 100,000 plants, in 15 different landscape displays and exhibition gardens. Visitors can enjoy learn about how to use Australian plants at home, by talking to one of our Volunteer Master Gardeners, or by joining a tour with one of our knowledgeable guides.

Bring the kids
Children can climb on the Hortasaurus in the Kid’s Backyard and search for hidden animal and plant fossils in the Desert Discovery Camp. They might even find some bilby footprints!

Boonerwurrung Café
The Boonerwurrung Café, with enticing views over the Australian Garden, offers delicious meals, as well as coffee, tea and light snacks. The menu features native Australian ingredients to add flavour and style to favourites; such as paper-bark smoked salmon with herbed mayo and salad greens.

The Gardens Shop
Visit the Gardens Shop and browse through our wide range of botanically themed gifts, books and artworks.

The Australian Garden is open every day except Christmas Day, from 9am to 5pm.
