Ventnor is situated to the west of Cowes hugging the coastline with magic views to Flinders and French Island. Expansive farmland in the area enjoys rural and coastal views. The village is home to a caravan park, general store, local produce outlet, classic bed & breakfast and holiday rentals.
This point became the site of the lonely grave of Captain Grossard in 1868 after a tragic accident . Watch whales entering or exiting the bay close to shore.
Follow the Whale Discovery Trail and stop at iconic bays, headlands and beaches to enjoy magnificent views as you search for whales. The Trail leads you to a range of coastal viewing points where interpretive signage provides an insight into the majesty and mystery of whales and their behaviors.
